Intellectual Property Research Center

In order to make the most of rich innovation resources and research staff of intellectual property in the institutions of higher education in Beijing, strengthen the use and protection of intellectual property, and achieve the goal of making Beijing an innovative city, Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science and the Beijing Committee of Education, after all-round inspection and strict evaluation, authorized to establish Beijing Intellectual Property Research Center in Beijing University of Chemical Technology on Nov. 8th, 2009.
Beijing Intellectual Property Research Center is an interdisciplinary research institution combining research, teaching, training and counseling. It is going to be the Beijing Government’s decision support and counsel service center concerning the construction of intellectual property system, the Beijing academic research and communication center of intellectual property, and the key information center of intellectual property.
Professor Liu Chuntian, the dean of Intellectual Property School of Renmin University of China and doctoral supervisor, is the chief expert of the center; Professor Fu Yulong, the dean of the School of Arts and Law of the BUCT, is the director of the center. Beijing Intellectual Property Research Center now has 23 researchers, including 7 professors, 3 senior engineers, 9 associate professors and 4 lecturers. It also has another 10 part-time professors from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, State Intellectual Property Office, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, Beijing Intellectual Property Society and State Foreign Expert Bureau, etc.
